Enslaved: Odyssey to the West

Its not that easy finding an adventure game ever since Devil may cry franchise and God of war won people attention. a lot of game tried to meet player attention and would say? "its a rip off". but Ninja theory manage to pull it off with thier game Enslaved: Odyssey to the West.

Enslaved: Odyssey to the West is a tactical action adventure game for the xbox and ps3 developed by Ninja Theory and published by Namco. the game is set 150 years in the post apocalyptic future where human lost a global war to the mechs. the game starts as the protagonist name monkey manage to escape a slave ship with a women name trip. the plane crash and he was save by trip which ironically she put a control headband on monkey head where if she dies, he will die too. she promise to take it off if only monkey help her to home to the west. Its loosely base on a Chinese novel journey to the west.

the game graphic is breath taking. for a post apocalyptic future. they really put on a forestation environment to make it as if its a new world. the design for the characters is also great including variety of enemy design.the storyline is light, making it easy to understand the main point of the story without going to have to understand the whole world history and just focus on the character development. the voice acting match up for the character personality and have its personal aura for it too.

but theres con to it; there no much to its gameplay.the scenario is a bit too short and theres not much challenge to it. you get to use monkey skill as to jump here and there but there's too many invincible wall so making it hard to know where to go and once you hit the next checkpoint its hard to backtrack. the battle system is pretty straight forward; its a cool combo and you can upgrade it to improve combat but you're limited to one combo so dont expect any flashy-mashy button style. you dont have to worry much though. even if the game is about to make sure trip doesn't get killed, its not really that of a escort mission. you could play this game without having to worry that much about trip.

Even with all these con, i would still recommend you to play this game. the storyline is well planned and the flow of the game still make it a worth while game for those who are looking for a focused single player experience. i give it a 4 out of 5
